REVIEW Promotional Cd Area Sismica volume 4

I received a rock and metal compilation called Area Sismica volume 4 in CD format from Italy and promoted by Mirko DeFox, producer and promoter with his various activities.. I am a big fan of such initiatives, compilations in general. Although they seem to be a medium of the past and are losing their relevance. Due to lack of time I do not like to surf the vast, endless expanse of the world wide web.

Now, about the musical content. How can I handle it? Mentioning some biographical notes on each of these thirteen bands would make this review a horrible reading material. Especially since they all lie within the boundaries (or lack thereof) of rock and metal. Each of these acts has a certain something to distinguish themselves from the others. Some of them strive to reach traditional hard rock, some even dive into the extremes of heavy metal, while a number of acts here simply follow the examples set long ago by the legends of the genre. There are also a couple of truly original attempts at creation such as Exnovo and FHG (Father Hollow Graham). Quite interesting, you must admit.

By the way, as I said above, most of these acts are rather unknown. At least for me. I only found four names here that I had heard of before and those are Kryuhm, Feline Melinda, Keens and Axe Hero. Maybe the more involved fans will recognize others. However, if the focus is mainly on Italian artists, one can't complain about the lack of geographical diversity here.

The only thing I can actually find a small flaw in this album is the lack of more alternative rock bands. There is an abundance of metal present. There must be at least a couple of worthy alternative representatives that could have made it on this compilation. But, as I said, that's just a small flaw. Or maybe an incentive to choose "volume 5". Trust me, I'm not necessarily a fan of those genres, but I too would love to have a fifth edition. That's how good it is.

Canadian Black Absinthe new video

Bear "Witness" To BLACK ABSINTHE's New Music Video Band members: Kyle Scarlett (Bass), Jack Cerre (Vocals/Guitar), Austin Henderson (Drums) - Photo Credit: Katherine Kwan Toronto's BLACK ABSINTHE are ready for fans to bear "Witness" to their new music video for their latest single released earlier this November. The video for the single "Witness" was shot at Toronto heavy metal venue Coalition T.O just months before its unfortunate closure. The venue itself holds a very dear spot in the metal hearts of the band as they lived and performed just steps away from it for the last four years, meeting local and touring bands along with rocking out their own relentless run of shows.  Trusting Katherine Kwan, “The Wild” (2017) director to encapsulate the energy felt in the band's live performances. The video begins with a glimpse into what a night at their local and beloved punk/metal Kensington Market venue was like. From the bright pit footage to the ...
